Transportation Of Dangerous Goods (TDG) - Road & Rail
The purpose of TDG training is to protect the general public and first responders from spills and or leaks of dangerous goods. Identification, training and safety standards will be covered in this course.
Traffic Control Person (Flagging)
This course is required for those monitoring, controlling and directing traffic in and around construction and maintenance areas. Students will be given hands on experience. Successful students must pass a written exam as well as a practical evaluation.
Confined Space Awareness
The course will provide you with the tools to identify and assess confined space hazards, as well as information to eliminate or minimize the hazards.
- Identify the characteristics of a confined space

- Establish control methods and learn how to develop a confined space entry program for the workplace
H2S Alive
This course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect yourself and basic rescue techniques. Each student is required to operate a self contained breathing apparatus, a detector tube device, perform rescue breathing and rescue lift and drag exercises.
WHMIS
This course will provide you with information for handling and using controlled products in the workplace. WHMIS requirements are set out in the Hazardous Products Act and associated Controlled Products Regulation, as well as provincial legislation.
Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1)
Priority action approach is taught to all students by providing life saving first aid.
- Primary survey Management of Obstructed airway
- How to manage distressed or non breathing situations
- One person CPR
- Management in shock and bleeding situations
- How to treat minor burns
Pre-requisites:
- 16 years of age/Picture ID required
Transportation Endorsement (TED)
- Review of Level 1 First Aid
- Hard collar application
- Spinal immobilization on a back board
- Helicopter transportation of injured worker
- Practice in dealing with various transportation scenarios
Pre-requisites:
- Must hold valid Occupational First Aid Level l Certificate
Occupational First Aid Level 3 (OFA 3) /
Automatic External Defibrillator
This course is based on first aid theory and practical skill development. OFA Level 3 certification requires an oral, practical and written examination with a passing score of 70% on all portions of the exam.
Pre-requisites:
- Medical examination/Picture ID required
Fork Lift Operation
A one day program, this course includes safe operating procedures, forklift operation
regulations, pre-trip inspection, hands on operation, safe handling of different fuel types and an operator certification exam.
Patterns for Personal Safety: A course in risk awareness
This course will expose the patterns involved in workplace accidents. It will help to raise workers risk awareness so that they can recognize and manage the risks.
Petroleum Safety Training (PST)
PST is an interactive Computer-Based Training Program on CD-ROM.
Enform has designed and produced this safety-training program for workers in the petroleum industry. Kitimat Valley Institute is currently in the process of setting up the program at our facility.
This comprehensive program includes a WHMIS certificate as well as specialized lessons in four sectors of the oil industry.
Learners need only take one of the optional lessons, which pertains to their sector. Petroleum Safety Training (PST) meets all of the requirements of Industry Recommended Practice (IRP) Petroleum Training - Basic Industry Safety Orientation.

Joint Health & Safety Committee Training
This course will help you identify Occupational Health and Safety Committee members' roles and responsibilities and find effective ways to encourage safety in the workplace.
Preventing Workplace Violence
Learn to explain regulatory requirements for protection of workers from workplace violence.
In this course you will also:
Conduct risk assessments
Establish measures and procedures
Develop a workplace violence prevention program
Supervisor Safety Management
Learn to identify and explain supervisor responsibilities for a safe work environment. We will describe process of risk assessment, inspections and accident investigations as
required.
